INFORMACIJE / ABOUT:

 

Tome Marelić je docent na Odjelu za geografiju Sveučilišta u Zadru. Njegov znanstveni rad usmjeren je na povijest kartografije, a njegov primarni istraživački interes je još uvijek misteriozno podrijetlo portulanskih karata, koje nastoji riješiti primjenom kartometrijskog pristupa u kombinaciji s poznatim povijesnim izvorima. Kontinuirano je posvećen znanstveno-istraživačkom radu, čije rezultate redovito prikazuje na međunarodnim konferencijama i objavljuje u etabliranim znanstvenim časopisima. Trenutni je predsjednik sekcije za kartografsku baštinu unutar Hrvatskog kartografskog društva (HKD). U nastavi je angažiran u izvođenju kolegija Kartografija I, Kartografija II, Geoinformatika, Uvod u znanstveno-istraživački rad i Pomorska geografija. Tome Marelić is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, University of Zadar. His scientific work focuses on the history of cartography, with his primary research interest being the still-mysterious origins of portolan charts, which he seeks to resolve by employing the cartometric approach in conjunction with known historical sources. He is continuously dedicated to scientific and research work, the results of which he regularly presents at international conferences and publishes in established scientific journals. Currently, he is the chair of the Croatian Cartographic Society’s (CCS) body on the cartographic heritage. In teaching, he is engaged in conducting the courses Cartography I, Cartography II, Geoinformatics, Introduction to Scientific Research and Maritime Geography.
