11th INTERNATIONAL GEOREGNET SUMMER SCHOOL

 Regional development and climate change – geographic perspectives

Zadar, Croatia, 4 – 15 September 2023

 

In September 2023 University of Zadar (Department of Geography) will host the 11th International summer school within the GEOREGNET network. The main topic of the summer school will be „Regional development and climate change – geographic perspectives “. The school will take place in Zadar, Croatia, from 4 to 15 of September 2023. in the lecture rooms of the Department of Geography at the University of Zadar, and will include two field trips of the selected locations in the city's surrounding, as well as a tour of the city itself.

Overall number of participants would be as follows:

  • 6 lecturers from partner institutions,
  • up to 20 students from partner institutions,
  • 10 students from the University of Zadar's Department of Geography,

Regional development and climate change – geographic perspectives

The program aims to offer lectures, workshops and field trips on various subtopics that are indirectly or directly related to the thematic framework of developmental challenges and impacts in the context of the current climate change, such as (but not limited to):

  1. Impact of climate change on spatial development,
  2. Tourism as a factor of pressure on the environment,
  3. Social entrepreneurship,
  4. Impact on protected area and wildlife.

Detailed program and subtopics will be provided after the process of receiving applications.

All accepted participants will receive free accommodation and meals during the summer school program. It is recommended to arrive to Zadar on the 3rd of September, given that the program starts on Monday the 4th.
